chinaSMACK is a daily-updated collection of original content from the Chinese-language internet, translated from Chinese into English. These latest stories, pictures, videos, and topics have become popular or viral, spreading across China’s major BBS forums, social networking websites, or through email forwards sent between normal Chinese people everyday.
The majority of chinaSMACK articles also feature translations of select comments made by Chinese netizens in response to the topics, pictures, or videos being discussed. This provides foreign netizens a glimpse or insight into how some Chinese netizens react, feel, or think, helping them better understand a part of China’s modern society.
